Subtelomere Rearrangements

Some chromosome rearrangements are too small to be detected by routine G-banding analysis. Therefore, other types of analyses, that allow a higher resolution than G-banding, need to be carried out in order to detect them. 

One way to accomplish this is to target specific chromosomal regions, such as the telomeric regions.
